A Beautiful Siyum

Last night we hosted a siyum at home for my husband’s shiur. What an honor.
I really don’t know how I managed to fit all this in while working full time… But honestly… how can I not?
My husband works hard all day, and somehow still makes time to learn twice a day. One shiur in the morning. One at night.
After a full day of work, after helping with the little ones at bedtime, he gets himself up and out to learn. Every night. I often wonder where he gets the strength from. I wouldn’t be able to do that after a full day…
And besides… if we spend our lives working and building, but can’t make time to celebrate the very things we’re building and living for… then what’s the point of it all?
I believe in celebrating what matters openly, because our children are watching.
They see what excites us. What we speak about with pride. What gets our effort and attention. They feel what matters in a home.
I want my children to feel that Yiddishkeit is alive in this home. That Torah is something we choose, cherish, and celebrate. It’s something that warms Mommy’s heart so deeply, it makes her stretch herself, and happily go the extra mile for it.
